KURO80 ml e-liquids · the intermediate shortfill format
80 ml shortfill e-liquids sit between 50 ml and 100 ml. They come in a 100 ml bottle filled to 80 ml, which leaves 20 ml of free space for your nicotine boosters, so two at most. The final strength goes up to 4 mg/ml, more than a 100 ml shortfill which tops out around 3.3 mg/ml.
Like all shortfills, the 80 ml is sold without nicotine. You decide the final strength by adding the boosters yourself, which works out much cheaper per millilitre than buying 10 ml ready-to-vape bottles.
What strength can you get with an 80 ml?
With 10 ml boosters dosed at 20 mg/ml, in a 100 ml bottle:
- 0 booster · 80 ml at 0 mg, pure flavour vaping
- 1 booster · 90 ml at around 2.2 mg/ml
- 2 boosters · 100 ml at around 4 mg/ml, bottle full
Add the boosters, close it up, shake for a minute. A few hours of rest is enough to blend the mix evenly. Nicotine boosters come in a neutral version, a cool version and a nic salt version: the neutral one keeps the original recipe, the cool one adds menthol, and the salt one softens the hit at high strengths.
80 ml, 50 ml or 100 ml: which should you choose?
The choice mainly comes down to the strength you want and how much you vape.
- 80 ml · the sweet spot for reaching 4 mg/ml while buying in a large format, with a 70% vegetable base built for sub-ohm
- 100 ml · maximum savings per millilitre, but limited to around 3.3 mg/ml
- 50 ml · the most common format, up to 6 mg/ml, ideal for trying out a recipe
- 10 ml · ready to vape, up to 20 mg/ml, for MTL and pods
What gear for an 80 ml?
The large format is mainly aimed at vapers who use direct inhalation and go through several millilitres a day. A mod kit with a sub-ohm tank, or a box mod paired with the atomiser of your choice, get the best out of these recipes. Check the PG/VG ratio on the bottle before buying: a high VG level calls for a low resistance and enough power.
The brands available in 80 ml
The 80 ml remains a niche format in France, mostly used by British brands. Here you will find the Kuro range, by Riot Labs, eight Japanese-inspired recipes made in the United Kingdom, from matcha tea to kyoho grape and ume plum. Stock changes, so check this page regularly to keep up with new arrivals.

5 QUESTIONS
/01
What is an 80 ml shortfill e-liquid?
An 80 ml shortfill is a nicotine-free e-liquid supplied in a 100 ml bottle filled to 80 ml. The 20 ml left free is there so you can add your boosters and reach the strength you want. The price per millilitre is much lower than with 10 ml ready-to-vape bottles.
/02
How many boosters do you need for an 80 ml?
Two at most, since the bottle only leaves 20 ml of space. With 10 ml boosters dosed at 20 mg/ml: one booster gives you around 2.2 mg/ml in 90 ml, two boosters around 4 mg/ml in 100 ml. With no booster, you vape the recipe at 0 mg.
/03
80 ml or 100 ml, which one should you choose?
The 100 ml shortfill is more economical per millilitre but tops out at around 3.3 mg/ml. The 80 ml goes up to 4 mg/ml, which makes it the better pick if you are after a slightly higher strength. To go beyond those levels, take a look at the 50 ml or the 10 ml ready-to-vape options.
/04
Should you let an e-liquid rest after adding boosters?
Close the bottle and shake it for a minute to blend everything evenly. A few hours of rest is enough in most cases. Rich or heavily flavoured recipes sometimes benefit from resting for one or two days, but that is not essential with a shortfill that is already flavoured.
