The 1 liter e-liquids are the most economical format on the vape market. Sold without nicotine (beyond the TPD limit for shortfills), they are primarily aimed at experienced DIY vapers, heavy sub-ohm users, and clubs and lounges who want to stock a large volume of a favorite flavor without making multiple purchases.

How to customize a 1 liter?

You decide the final nicotine strength by adding 10 ml boosters at 20 mg/ml. Count approximately:

• 2 boosters => approximately 0.4 mg/ml in 1020 ml of mixture (almost pure 0 mg vaping)
• 5 boosters => approximately 0.95 mg/ml in 1050 ml
• 10 boosters => approximately 1.8 mg/ml in 1100 ml
• 15 boosters max => approximately 2.6 mg/ml in 1150 ml

The 1 liter is not suitable for high nicotine levels: to vape at 3 mg or more, stick with 50 ml shortfills or 10 ml ready-to-vape.

What PG/VG ratio in 1 liter?

The 1 liter e-liquids from Mixup XXL and most references distributed here are in 50/50 base, making them compatible with both pods and MTL coils as well as sub-ohm boxes and rebuildables. That's the advantage of the 50/50 base: it doesn't saturate the wick in MTL and still produces decent vapor in sub-ohm. For purely sub-ohm use with dense vapor, check out large format e-liquids in high VG (200 ml and 500 ml).

The savings on 1 liter

Per milliliter, a 1 liter + 5 boosters costs on average 0.08 to 0.12 EUR/ml, which is about 5 times cheaper than a 10 ml ready-to-vape. Over 6 months of intensive sub-ohm vaping (10 ml/day), the savings exceed 500 EUR.

Storage and steeping

An unopened 1 liter e-liquid can be stored for 2 years away from light and heat. Once nicotined with boosters, expect 6 to 12 months. Steeping is particularly beneficial for this format: 1 to 3 weeks of rest really reveal the aromatic potential after adding boosters, especially for classic tobacco and dessert flavors.
